Kraft Foods Seeks to Increase Planters Market Share

Kraft Foods' Planters market share increased to the mid-single digits from 1.8% in 2011, reported Bloomberg BusinessWeek as Kraft seeks to reverse the brand's declining sales trends. From 2005 to 2010, Planters sales at U.S. stores excluding Wal-Mart fell 12%, according to SymphonyIRI Group. Its share of the snack nuts market was 24% in 2011, down from 32% in 2006.
