DoD Ramps Up Anti-Tobacco Efforts with New Web Site

U.S. military officials are stepping up campaigns against tobacco use among military personnel by directing users to go to the Department of Defense’s (DoD) new www.youcanquit2.org Web site. The DoD estimates it spends $1.6 billion per year in additional medical care associated with tobacco use, and on tobacco-related health information programs. The new Web site offers live online counselors who provide free cessation support, a calculator to see how much tobacco use costs over time, and games as an alternative to smoke breaks, reports AFPN.
